Larceny
Larceny is wrongfully taking or withholding another's property with intent to permanently deprive the owner of said property. There are varying degrees of larceny:
Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in prison, is the theft of property valued less than $250.
Grand Larceny, a felony punishable by more than one year in prison, is the theft of property valued at $250 or more. Credit card theft, regardless if the card was used, along with burglary and robbery, regardless of the value of what was taken, are also felony charges.
A conviction on theft charges will leave you with a permanent criminal record. Contact the Law Offices of Lloyd J. Nadel today if you are facing larceny charges, toll free, at 1 (877) NY LAW 50.
